Mr. Doug L. Hoover is a lay pastor at Providence Baptist Church. He is a counselor, certified by
both the SBABC and the International Association of Biblical Counselors. He serves on the board
of the SBABC and Setting Captives Free, an international internet-based ministry which seeks to
see men and women come to freedom from hibitual sin. Mr. Hoover lives in Greer, SC with his wife
Karen and two children

Vice-President

Dr. Paul J. Dean, Jr. is the pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Greer, SC, and hosts a daily,
live, call-in radio talk show: "Calling For Truth." Dr. Dean is the co-founder of the SBABC, and
currently serves as its Vice President. He servers as the Director of Applied Ministry at the Greenville
SC extension of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also Regional Mentor with the
International Association of Biblical Counselors. Dr. Dean received his D. Min from Erskine Theological
Seminary in Due West, SC. He speaks at several conferences throughout the year and provides
training for ministers and churches on a regular basis. Dr. Dean lives in Greer, SC with his wife
Mary and their three children.

Executive Director

Mr. Darren L. Smith is actively involved in the field of biblical counseling. He is the Executive Director
of the SBABC, and currently serves as the Director of the Providence Center for Biblical Counseling in
in Greer, SC. His role as Executive Director allows him the opportunity to coordinate and train those
seeking to become a certified biblical counselor, as well as speaking at various biblical counseling
conferences. Mr. Smith lives in Greer, SC with his wife Carie and four of their five children.
